Wonwoo Lee: Lost & Found
Space ZeroOne
Advance registration is required. RSVP here
Session 1: Wednesday, September 9, 4–8 PM
Session 2: Thursday, September 10, 2–6 PM
At a temporary Lost & Found Center inside ZeroOne, artist Wonwoo Lee (b. 1981, Seoul, Korea) asks each visitor, “What have you lost and want to find again?” Serving as the center’s attendant, Lee reads each claim form and speaks with its author. He then makes a small sculpture in response to what they describe. It may look nothing like what the visitor remembers, or it may come unexpectedly close. The sculpture is photographed, then given to the visitor to take home.
Lee first presented Lost & Found at Art Sonje Center in Seoul in 2017 and has since continued the performance in different forms. For this iteration, he will use a second version of Sunrise Sunset, a circular scarlet sculpture made during his 2026 residency at Art Omi. Lee will roll the work along Broadway into ZeroOne, then use parts of it to make sculptures for visitors. As the performance continues, Sunrise Sunset will gradually change. Piece by piece, its material will leave the gallery in the hands of participants.
Lost & Found serves as the pilot program for ZeroOne Sessions, a public-program series developed independently from ZeroOne’s exhibition program in collaboration with artists, writers, and curators.
