Taming Time: Today–Tomorrow (오늘 내일)
Space ZeroOne
371 Broadway, New York, NY 10013
Echoing the exhibition's title, the temporal collision between the honorific 故, used to refer to the deceased, and the English expression the late, the performance explores the elasticity of time. Over the course of one hour, it unfolds through multiple measures of duration: the time it takes to cook rice, for a warm stone to cool, for an incense stick to burn, or gup (the Buddhist notion of cosmic age). Accompanied by an original video and soundscape created exclusively for the performance, the work invites audiences to experience time not as a fixed measure, but as something lived, stretched, and continuously negotiated.
